The New Jersey Devils announced on Monday that they have signed centre Scott Gomez to a one-year, $550,000 contract. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. The 34-year-old attended Devils’ training camp on a tryout basis but did not make the team. He has been practicing with the squad without a contract. Drafted by New Jersey in the first round of the 1998 Draft, Gomez played seven seasons for New Jersey before signing with the New York Rangers in 2007.
