It’s a classic heavyweight bout, but the Jaguars might have a slight advantage going into the game because of some of the teams the Chiefs have already played and beat.In Week 1 the Chiefs beat up on the Los Angeles Chargers, putting up 38 points and over 350 yards. In Week 2 they beat up on the San Francisco 49ers, once again putting up 38 points and over 350 yards of offense. Those two defenses are run by former Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley and former Jaguars linebacker coach Robert Salah, respectively. Both run defenses very similar to what the Jaguars run under defensive coordinator Todd Wash, who was the coordinator under Bradley.This means while the Chiefs had success against this style of defense already this season, the Jaguars have plenty of game tape to see how the Chiefs and Andy Reid attacked those defenses. Wash has a few wrinkles that make the Jaguars defense unique from the aforementioned Chargers and 49ers, but they’re similar enough to where you can look at what worked for the Chiefs in those games and try to make some adjustments or hide some coverages to try to confuse quarterback Patrick Mahomes.The Jaguars defense itself is rather simple, but with some exposure to how the Chiefs will attack the Cover-3 and other things, it could help Wash sprinkle in some more wrinkles to take those things away. You can also build on what the Denver Broncos were able to do to shut down the Chiefs offense for a few quarters on Monday Night Football.
